Meet Darcie

I trust womxn; I trust birth. I trust the process, the expansion and the transformation that must happen in order for new life and new perspective to evolve. I also understand that this transformation process can be uncomfortable at times - and rightly so! We expand beyond our former selves to hold the space for new life.

These beliefs have guided me along my path as a doula and reproductive health educator. As someone who wants to see all of her options before making a choice, who wants to weigh the risks and benefits before moving forward, and who wants to feel heard - I love supporting individuals and families as they explore the vast array of choices available throughout their life cycles - including contraception, pregnancy, birth + parenting. As a doula, I unconditionally support any type of birth and trust that when individuals have all of the options and resources available, they can make the best choice for themselves and their families.

I am a certified doula through Doula Trainings International. Women's health and holistic wellness have been a passion of mine for years. I attended Ithaca College and received a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Integrative Health Studies in 2010. I then continued my education in Van Etten, NY at the Heartstone School for Earth Essentials' intensive herbal apprenticeship program, receiving an herbalism certificate in the didactic, therapeutic, laboratory and fieldwork of herbalism. In 2013, I began to study birthwork and helped to co-found the Ithaca Doula Collective in 2014. During that same year, I helped to found and co-create Bramble, a community apothecary in downtown Ithaca. A year later, after seeing the way that my clients benefited from this nourishment time and time again, I trained with Placenta Benefits and began my work as a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist to help ease the physical and emotional (i.e. hormonal) transition into postpartumhood.

inspired by my own health challenges and interests in reproductive justice, I completed a 2 year graduate program in reproductive health education to become a certified Fertility Awareness Educator and Holistic Reproductive Heath Practitioner through Justisse College in 2020. Since then, I have been working one-on-one with individuals to help them navigate chronic reproductive health challenges, confidently utilize non-hormonal contraceptive methods, and conceive with confidence. This work has helped me return to my roots as a community health educator, offering classes on reproductive health, body literacy, and holistic wellness.

As an educator, advocate and herbalist, my goal is to support womxn, their partners and their families to feel empowered through discovering their own unique strengths and values which guides them toward an authentic, supported and healthy life.

Sacred Seedlings is the result of many years of education, skilled trainings, passion and trust. Sacred Seedlings offers a holistic approach to health and wellness from infancy to adulthood by supporting families and empowering communities through education and access to affordable wellness.
